It may have just happened within a few minutes after midnight, before and after which I tried the same configuration but the price was $(1624-1533) different.
    The basic specs are:
    XP Pro
    T7200
    14.1 SXGA+
    1G ram
    128M graphic
    100G HD
    9 cell
    DVD writer

I checked the price builtup using a calculator and found the $1533 price was actually $1624 if using the current pricing for each component upgrade. weird, huh?

Lenovo's specials ended on Oct. 31st. This would effect their pricing strategy/config.

Looks like they are gonna drop they price on the T, but take away the free upgrades resulting in a slight higher price for the T. Free upgrades are now on the Z with a memory upgrade instead of battery.

Yes, they did drop the price sometime during Oct. 31 by about $209.

I configured a T60 in the morning with the total amount of $2,209 before tax but ended up ordering one at $2,090 in the afternoon.

The price includes: Advanced Mini Dock with Power Cord ($197.00)
    3-Year ThinkPad Protection with 1-Year Depot to 3-Year Depot Repair ( $299.00)

I just ordered my T60 10/25 so I went and configured it today with the exact same specs and ZaZ was right (as always), with the new pricing today's would have been $18 more...no much, but more.

Here is an email I sent to Lenovo. The so-called "free" is really stupid, which means you should feel happy that Lenovo doesn't charge you 90 bucks extra for a standard 512M memory during this promotion period. I almost pulled the trigger but after seeing this I decided I'd wait a bit longer with my Latitude C640.

    ----
The website states there is a "free" memory 512M or a discounted 1G for $99. but I don't see an option of getting 1G total memory which "IS" supposed to be a "free" upgraded from 512M on any other competitor's website. In another word, people buy a T60 with a "Free" 512M memory are supposed to pay $90 extra if there was no such promotion? This is confusing and, to be honest, ridiculous.
