The system clock on my new T60 runs fast - like 5 minutes a day, enough to be a problem. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to adjust it?

If you run windows XP, then your Sys clock is supposed to set it's self every time you connect to the internet.

double click on the system tray time and check the Internet Time tab and make sure "Automatically synch with internet time server" is enabled. That's an odd problem though.

the clock has nothing to do w/ the internet. i have had my comp off for days or even weeks and when i turn it on, the clock shows the correct time, it wasn't even plugged in to the AC outlet cause I was doing some mod to the case. it might be a battery issue on the mobo.

I don't see that as an option when I double-click on the time. All I see are tabs for time and time zone????

do you have XP? Every XP installation I have seen has the internet time option. Otherwise you can google or something, there are freeware programs to synchronize the clock as well.

The clock will occasionally run fast on my desktop for some reason, sometimes gaining as much as 15-20 min over the course of 4-5 hrs.

I'm running XP Professional, but there's no internet option in the clock app. I'm suprised too. I found apps that synchronize with external clocks, but that would seem to add yet another app that's running in teh background. Should teh clock run at teh right speed? Does this imply that som,e chip in the system is oscilating at a fast rate out of spec?
