I stopped using firefox because after a few hours on my T60 it would sometimes just lock up the mouse cursor and then a few seconds later the entire screen would go black and it would completely crash, I would have to power off and on again. But IE explorer 7 is also (rarely) but after hours of use, and lots of putting it in standby mode it will suddenly during surfing just go all black, completely crash, so same issue.

Is there some BIOS mess up? I have all the most current updates, and clean the registry constantly with CCleaner, I take good care of it. It doesn't always happen and then only after being on all day long with several standby modes throughout the day but it still bugs me.

Any ideas what's going on? Have you ever hard this happen?

    Thanks,
    S

Have you tried a clean install of the Operating System you are running? That normally resolves a batch of problems, many have BSODS with the ThinkVantage Utilities that you don't need. (All you need is the basic drivers)

I have the same issue. So I erased my PC completely and wiped from scratch.

Then I updated every single driver from IBM - Suspect issue is when I have the laptop running on battery. Also suspect too many IBM startup drivers.

I have 20 years experience fixing laptops and desktops and servers so there is something definitely wrong.

I have this issue, but it comes in the form of me using Firefox for a while and then trying to watch a video, either in browser or out.

I sent in my T60 to EzServ describing the issue and they've replaced the motherboard twice now and the problem has not been solved.

It happens both when using the AC adapter and on the battery, so that's not the issue. Not sure about excessive IBM applications, as I've done clean installs on this computer, but ended up putting a selection of ThinkVantage programs on it afterward.

Have you thought about sending your laptop in to EzServ? I wish I could narrow down what the cause is.
