I have a T60 laptop and during the summer the gpu temperatures are incredibly high. When browsing or doing sth in windows the temp is 80 C. When playing warcraft for about an hour the gpu reaches 99 C. Should I contact the tech support or is it normal during the summer when ambient temperature is higher than in winter. Now I have 26 C in my room where the laptop is.

These are my current temps when writing this post: The fan is running constantly at 3400 rpm.

    CPU 60°C (0x78)
    APS 36°C (0x79)
    PCM 40°C (0x7a)
    GPU 80°C (0x7b)
    BUS 40°C (0xc0)
    PCI 47°C (0xc1)
    PWR 53°C (0xc2)

I have it for less than a year and don't use it in dusty environments.

I have the same problem with my 2623-DDU T60p, Feri. The only difference is that my GPU gets to 108 or 110 and just hard-locks the machine. Bleh. I haven't tried tech support yet. And no, blowing it out didn't help. Ever.

Panteedropper - I used both Ubuntu's IBMACPI stuff and also TPFanControl, and one other on XP. I forget what it is though, and i'm not near my laptop. Maybe Feri can expand on what he uses. My CPU temp is low, usually 55ish(well, that's kinda high, but heh, never crosses 65)... It's just the GPU that goes wonky

Time to call up tech support. There have been cases where they forgot to remove the plastic covering the copper on the heatsink.

From what I've seen the ATI cores should not go beyond mid 90s or the system will crash or hard lock.

System idles from 65-75 but doesn't go above 85 in games like Hitman Blood Money.
