T60 ultranav problem

I look for this in forums and didn't find anything so i thought i would post.

I recently did a roll back on my T60. Since then, the touch pad and track point have both been not functioning properly. The best way to describe it is when i'm scrolling the pointer on the screen will freeze for ~10 seconds then resume working normally. The pointer will also just freeze occasionally on the screen and then resume working. This doesn't happen every time i scroll, just enough to make it really annoying. I have all the latest drivers and bios. The problem occurs in both Firefox and just when using explorer. I called lenovo and they suggested removing the keyboard and touch pad and then reinstalling them. However, this seems a lot more like a software problem than a hardware issue. Any ideas on what is going on and how to fix it?

 

Have you tried reinstalling the UltraNav Driver and Utility?

 

Thanks for the tip, that totally spaced my mind. I did that and it definitely got a lot better. However, the problem is not entirely solved. Any other suggestions?
