    I inherited a 15.4" T61p and need to replace the palmrest. I'm wondering if it has the same palmrest as the widescreen 15" T60? If so, I can get a T60 palmrest as a replacement.

    OK, I'll bite, why would want to get a T60 replacement instead of the T61?

    they maybe compatible, but can't be 100% sure, the cuts on the front for the both of the palmrest are the same from memory.

    Not positive, but doesn't the T60 have an IR port where the T61p has a FireWire port? The cuts will be slightly different if that is the case.

    i think the firewire port frame (it is sitting on a slight raise at the front) on the 15.4 inch T61p is about the same size as the Infrared port.
