Recently I brought a used T60 and did a fresh install of windows xp on it. For some reason, when I run a speed test at speedtest.net, the wireless speed is capped at ~3.0mbps. I also have an old R61, and when I run a speedtest on the wireless, it gets ~15mbps.

Does anyone know why the speed/wireless card is capped at 3.0mbps? It sounds like a setting issue to me since it runs fine on my R61.

    ^^ I figured it out.

It turns out that I had QoS enabled on the router back from when I had a 3.0 mbps connection. Apparently I limited every computer on the router to have ~2.7mbps download (dd-wrt suggested 80% of my max rate) and never changed it when I upgraded to 15mbps. My R61 was on the router's white list so it was exempt from the 3.0mbps restriction but the T60 was not on the list so it was restricted to that speed.
