ON my laptop I have power on fingerprint security enabled and the fingerprint reader doesn't work all the time. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't read my fingerprint no matter if I scan it hard or not it's as if I am not scanning my finger. But for windows log on and in windows xp the fingerprint reader works flawlessly. Any ideas?

Ahh this fingerprint technology is still in early stages. I recomend you scrap it and try it again in five years. Sorry I couldn't be more positive but it really is how I feel.

Try licking your finger and giving it a go. I find it reads easier when the finger isn't really dry and apply a little more pressure.

I have a month-old T60p running XP pro with a fingerprint reader. I haven't encountered this problem, but I'm wondering if you can go back and reprogram the reader (i.e., have it read again and verify all your prints)? Also, have you updated the reader software recently? The fact that it works flawlessly with XP makes me wonder if it isn't a software issue.

I think I'm the only one who's fingerprint reader works flawlessly. I don't use it for security though. Just convenience.
