    Hello,

I am finally ready to purchase a T60P, after all the great help I have had on this forum, I would like to make sure that I am purchasing the BEST T60P for my application needed. I am going to run a CADD program, I need plenty of speed, very good gaming capabilities, & a system that will stand the test of time with plenty of storage. With all this said, I have narrowed it down to:

Intel 802.11abg wireless,/Modem, Verizon WWAN 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, 9c Li-Ion batt

Please advise on this setup, as I will be buying this setup in the next week. I would like to get this system right & have any extras included in this system

I guess it would depend on how you define good, but that GPUs is four years old. If you need a good GPU you should be looking at a newer system, though it will not be a FlexView. May I ask what your budget is?

My budget is $1100.00, I need XP proffesional SP3, my CADD system will only run on this format without errors, & 32 bit not 64. What ideas do you have for making this T60P a realiable & proficient laptop?

All I'm saying is you'll get better performance from a newer machine if that's what you need. I wouldn't get a notebook with a 90 warranty either, but that's me. You certainly could get XP on a newer machine.

    Hello,
So what make & model would you recommend in a Xp proffesional 32 bit format that can match or come close to a Flexview. I need a reliable well built laptop that can handle CADD applications & storage, with a business proffesional in mind!

    Wilse,

By looking @ the specs on the T60P in this thread heading, are there any other upgrades to this system you might have a suggestion for.

    Thanks,
    BT60

Those are over. You may as well get used to it.

Well you certainly could look at a T500 in the Outlet. I don't know if the 3650 in there has what you need in terms of your GPU needs, I'm not really a graphics guru. There's the W500 and W700, which have CAD friendly GL cards, but those would be at the top of your budget, if not a little more.

T7600 is the max upgrade for the T60p (2.33GHz), that model number CPU doesn't sound like a Core 2 model number therefore might be a Core Duo and not support 64-bit.

The CPU is completely upgradeable, but I think you missed the part where they said they needed 32 bit XP for their software to work without errors.
