Nothing important really. Just excited my new T60P shipped and is enroute from Hong Kong. Ordered on 9/5. Estimated ship date 9/22. Actual ship date 9/20. I ordered from Lenovo and was worried about their inconsistent shipping.

Sounds great!

You and I ordered around the same time. I think I remember you adding RAM to your order? Maybe that is why you shipped a few days after me. Mine was delayed due to mechanical problems with the plane. That was hard to watch all the delays on the tracking website. Mine started shipping Thursday night and didn't get here till Wednesday. Normally 2 business day delivery. I haven't got to enjoy mine much as I've been struggling with the setup of my wife's Sony AR170.

I was actually getting worried. I saw several people that ordered after me get their computers. I actually called Lenovo on the 19th and they told me they were backordered on the Flexview screens and were not expecting shipment until mid to late October if I was lucky. (That explains why the UXGA option is not present on the Lenovo site). All those horror stories about delays flashed through my mind and I almost cancelled. The next day, I got a shipment confirmation and they upgraded it to overnight express. Although, right now, the laptop is in Canada and the note says, "THE SHIPMENT IS BEING HELD BY BROKERAGE FOR REASONS BEYOND UPS' CONTROL" I suspect this is just a customs thing and it will resolve quickly. It still says it is scheduled for shipment on Friday.
I ordered a Sony SZ260 for my wife which should also get here on Friday. I plan on doing the semi-restore mentioned in the Sony forums. Hopefully, it won't be too frustrating. -
I would have felt really bad if you didn't get the laptop because of a backordered screen, when you mentioned the Labor Day Visa sale to us. I added an extra charger to my order and kind of wondered if it would delay anything. The charger actually arrived the day before the laptop. Someone else got theirs without any additions within a week of ordering. I can't seem to figure out what creates the variance. The Lenovo rep on the phone said the second time I called just to check on the progress, that he would do everything he could to make sure I got it asap. Don't know what that means if anything. Maybe just trying to make me feel better. It did ship 6 days prior to the estimate of the 20th. I ordered the day after you and got an estimated shipping date 2 days before you. I ordered on the phone, did you order online?
Anyway, I can't wait to hear your comments about the ThinkPad. -
I can't believe we both just got T60p's and ordered Sony's for our wives. Very interesting.
T60P just shipped.
