I have been getting some BSOD's on my T60p lately. It keeps telling me there is a memory parity error. I have 3GB installed on the T60p. I heard somewhere that it may also indicate some sort of motherboard failure. Should I just put in new memory sticks, or should I send it in to have the motherboard replaced?
I have also been getting something really weird going on with the USB ports. I use an external USB DAC (for audio), and sometimes I just get random cut offs of the USB data stream when I am surfing the web and doing processor intensive tasks (this does not happen with my friend's Dell).

NMI parity error could indicate anything from RAM to GPU to motherboard failure. I had it a problem with my GPU and kept on getting this error. I would try resetting your RAM sticks and try ones you know works for sure so as to eliminate it. RAM is more likely to fail but it may also be the GPU if you have the NVIDIA Quadro.

Thanks. My T60p is 2 years old, I don't even remember what kind of discrete graphics card it has. But just to be on the safe side, I think I will send it in to have it checked out.
How is Lenovo's depot service these days? Anything I have to worry about? I don't want them to return me a laptop that is in worse condition than what I originally sent in. -

The BSOD doesn't happen all the time. It just happens randomly. When it happens, I just reboot the laptop. And the laptop will be fine for a couple of weeks or even months. Then it just gives me the BSOD again, totally random. This has been happening for the past year or so. It's getting really annoying.

Call support and see what they've got to say.

It may be related to what you are specifically doing. I had a bad GPU inside my Dell that was causing my computer to give the NMI error whenever I did anything GPU intensive, even including playing songs in WMP (visualizations). So while it may seem random perhaps there is a pattern to it.
