I have a 15" T60p with the FlexView screen. At the bottom end of the screen, 1-2 entire lines of pixels will got black. If you wiggle the monitor a little bit they come back, but after a few minutes it will go back to the 1-2 lines of pixels being black.

The laptop is still under warranty, however, I am concerned that if I send it in for screen replacement I won't get a flexview screen? What do you guys think?

Why don't you call them and find out? I would also note down the model number of your LCD and you might be able to ask for it by number. I read a similar thread a while back and from what I can remember, people said Lenovo has enough Flexviews in stock to cover warranty repairs.

Flexview screens look exactly the same from all viewing angles. They were last seen on the T60p.

    See the difference?

They cost a lot more than TN screens. I don't know why they don't give you the option of IPS though. :(

I thought the main company that made the panels stopped producing them?

ISP-S panels are still widely used in high end monitors. I don't know of any laptops that use them, but the Dell 3008WPF uses them.

The X61t for the moment and some Fujitsu tablets are still using IPS screens. All my opinion here, but in this world of FatWallet and SlickDeals, not enough people aren't willing to pay the premium to make it worthwhile for Lenovo to do it. They can make more money selling notebooks with sub par screens. I'm sure if Lenovo were willing to pay the price they could get them. It's economics 101. It's really too bad. The FlexView is the best notebook screen ever made. If you need a notebook with a good screen, it remains the best choice despite the older parts which probably isn't all that much.
