    Hello,
I am having some problems with internet connection on my T60p. For example, the problem when I try to download the yahoo messenger, it gives me a message that says: "An error occured while trying to connect to the server (error-26). This could occur if you don not have an active connection to the internet or your proxy server settings are not valid". The same thing happens when I try to update some software, for example, Xingtone ringtone maker that comes with T60p. For some other sites the connection works just fine. I checked into windows firewall exceptation settings and that also did not help.

Has anyone some idea how to avoid this problem. My operating system is Vista Business, and I have tried disabling windows firewall, antivirus and even the ThinkVantage Clinet Security Solution. I think that I am having some issue with the internet settings on my machine. I have another HP Laptop with Windows XP Pro on it and it works fine. I have Comcast Cable modem that I use.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks

Does this happen all the time or just intermittently?

Try changing the physical connection. If you are using wi-fi, try switching to ethernet, or usb...something different than you are currently doing.

I did try wireless and ethernet both, but the problem remains. I think this problem is due to some security setting somewhere in vista. How do I change the proxy settings, does anyone think that might be the issue.
    thanks
