I noticed that the capacity of the 100G HD was not correct.
Through the Computer Management, I saw
Disk 0 IBM_Preload (CIBM_Service
93.16 GB 88.43 GB 4.73 GB
It seems to me that I lost 6-7 G harddisk.![]()
Durring my recovery process, I run into a screen, it had three options, something like (Factory, pre seal ... ) I chose pre seal (the third option), maybe that caused the problem.![]()

Nope, that's correct. The difference in reported hard drive capacity and claimed hard drive capacity is due to the fact that manufacturers consider 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes, whereas a computer reads 1 GB = 1073741824 bytes.
So, if the total capacity is 100,000,000,000 bytes, divide that by 1073741824 bytes to get the reported capacity, which in this case is ~93.13GB. You have exactly as much hard drive space as you should have. -
Da mnit, this has got to be the most commonly asked newbish question in the world.

was not so much of a problem when drives were smaller. Suppose it's the fault of whoever decided to use the SI prefixes on a quantity that does not scale by factors of 10. Wonder how many support calls the manufacturers would not have to take if they labeled the drives properly instead of rounding.
T60p harddisk capacity? Where is it gone?
