As I had mentioned in an earlier post, I had a T60p coming in from Lenovo EPP today, 2.33 duo core 4gb ram, 15.4", vista business, ATI 256MB Fire GL V5250.

However, on the outside of the box, it's labeled as ATI Mobility Radeon X128MB 1450!!!!

    What does this mean?

Did they give me the wrong video card? Do I risk opening the box up to find out if the box is labeled wrong but the card is correct? 15% restocking on 3k+ not good!

From AMD's website. How does this stack against the Nvidia Quadro NVS 140m and the ATI 256MB Fire GL V5250?

Cheers, and thanks to the admin w/ the good ideas.

the x1450 is at least half the power of the the firegl. i would give lenovo a call to see what should be done about opening the box.

wow, for 3.000k, i wouldn't open that mess up until i got word from a rep or something.

Although i'd be itching to open it, i'd wait. I'm sure they'd still listen to you if you opened it up and then found it didn't come as you specified, if you have proof to back it up with order forms and specs, etc.

You decide, i'd personally wait and call though. :)

Send it back and reorder it at the new price and save a few hundred bucks

I'd say that EPP units sometimes the box stickers gets messed up. I had a T42p via EPP but the motherboard is from a T41p (really there's no difference). But I've heard guys getting what they ordered even though when they go to Lenovo's support and type their machine type number, even though it shows having a specific components, in reality their machine have what they paid for. So looking in the positive side, I think you got what you paid

I too believe the box is just mislabeled from what others are reporting. Have you tried doing a parts look-up? (more info in the FAQ at the top of the forum)

    Called Lenovo today-

Apparently even though both the packing list are wrong and the box is labeled wrong, it's not possible for a T60p to have the ATI Mobility Radeon x1450 because it's only available for the T60? Or something like that?

Either way, I either need to send this out for return by June 1 and hope the T61p 15" comes out ASAP, or I open it up.

    hmmmmm........

Someone on here said twice the performance on the Nvidia NVS 570m over the ATI Fire GL V5250 eh?

I ordered via EPP, got my T60p this morning, and had the same problem. I called tech support, and they told me it was a common label misprint, and that they were sure the right card was on the inside. I opened the box.

There are ways of checking the video card without opening the case.

Yes, I set up all of the security stuff and then went to check the card in the settings. The right card was installed - they're just printing bad labels for some reason. Tech support was correct.

ddexter - we're talking about the cardboard box, not the case.
