T60p longer wait time than the T61s???!?

I ordered a T60P and it says the shipping date is 8/29.... anyone have any thoughts as to why the heck its so late??

 

Not to worry! I ordered my T60p through the Lenovo USA website on Tuesday 6/19/2007 @ 1:55 AM and the customized laptop shipped by UPS EXPRESS on Fri 6/22/2007 @ 2:20 PM.

That's only 2.5 days to build and ship after my order was placed. I'm super impressed so far. Now I just need next business day delivery for everything to be perfectly dandy (Monday).

Plus, I chose UPS Ground but they sent by UPS Express. Guess it’s coming from China so Ground wasn't really an option? Or maybe they are just ramping up their service to make up for the long delays people are experiencing for the T61.

Like I said, not to worry because my original ship date was August 20th and the website still says "call" for estimated ship date (no longer 2 or 3 weeks). Maybe the turnaround is so fast that they want you to call because the wait time is too short to post publicly? Haha

 

yes you are right. ground shipping is not an option, you can only send internationally by the private courier companies using expedited services.

 

Just give it a bit and it will come (probably).

 

with flexview? The flexview screen may cause delay due to the shortage.

 

Well, surface mail could be an option through another carrier, but delivery would take a month or so. I bet that would still be a shorter wait than for the T61.

Looks like the delivery is scheduled for Monday after all! That's just one business day for delivery and a total of 4 business days from order to delivery for the T60p (UPS always delivers in the early morning to the UPS Store for some reason).

I guess there's no reason for anyone to choose the $50 2-day method since they are coming from China. Mine's coming from Hong Kong, sweet! I'm half Chinese, relatives are in Hong Kong, and so this T60p will be extra special to me.

My T60p order that I placed on Tuesday was with the IPS Flexview and when I ordered the website said "cal" for estimated ship date.

 

hm interesting ahha i ordered on the 21st, so i guess we'll ahve to see when that actually comes haha

 

The orders delay first for T61, then maybe for X series.

 

hopefully they don't ship out the wrong order.. since i cancelled another order i made the day before... i guess i'll see if it comes out tomrorow

it says shipped on the status page, but i dind't get an email saying it has been shipped.... and the date still says 8/29 ontop... lenovo.. you suck
