I'm considering getting a T60p 15" with a Flexview screen which is 1400 something pixels. I have a hard time with tiny text, so will this resolution be too small for me? I think the 1280x1024 resolution is a bit too small but almost perfect. On my desktop I have 1100 something resolution on a CRT which is just right for me.

I don't think you'll have a problem. I had never used a monitor higher than 1024x768 until I got my flexview and I had no transition period where things seemed funny (and consider that I need -2.5 correction in my left eye and -.5 correction in my right eye and I don't wear my glasses when I use the computer). You can always increase the dpi if it proves to be an issue to you.

I agree 100% with this post. Laptops almost always have a higher pixel/inch ratio than desktops. You will quickly get used to it. You should def. check out different resolutions in person before buying though, it's also a matter of personal preference. The IPS flexview screen is beautiful.

I always thought SXGA+ on a 15" would be too small, but now I have it on a 14" and it seems fine to me, but everyone is different. It may be difficult to see one as not many stores carry SXGA+ notebooks. Perhaps maybe a close comparison would be WUXGA on a 17".

The sharpness from a UXGA on a 15" is worth the smaller fonts than the SXGA. I also thought the UXGA would be too small on the 15 cause I came from WXGA on a 17", but so happy I picked the higher res model, as nothing looks pixelated anymore. If you work with graphics, thats even more of a reason to go higher res.
