    Dear All,

I think I have a serious problem with my 3 year old T60p(8744-C9U). Any help is greatly appreciated. Here are the symptoms.

    1. In the last few days, I noticed that when I put it in standby, it rebooted upon trying to wake it up.

    2. Today I noticed that it wouldn't hibernate. It would blink like it was going to, but then it reboots.

    3. Today, it also started rebooting upon changing the power adapter status, i.e., if the power is plugged in, by unplugging it the system would freeze for 3-4 seconds, then reboots. If the power is turned off, and I plug in the cord, SAME thing happens.

    4. The above symptoms happen both under Win XP SP3, and under Ubuntu linux too.

It seems to me that there is something wrong with some "power handling unit". Unfortunately, my warranty ended a few days ago!!

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks
    Ahmed

you can still extend the warranty on the laptop within fews of warranty expiration. So i highly advise you to extend the warranty ASAP. Then get it checked out by the warranty repairer/depot.
