I have a t60p t7200 2gig memory 100gb 5200rpm hd win xp and vista
I use google sketchup from time to time and am having a problem with the graphics drivers. I have 2 hard drives, one loaded with xp (which I prefer using for now) and one with vista.
the problem:
under XP I get an error message saying something like my video card is not compatible with CCC and go to display manager and enable the video card or get the latest driver. Well the card is enabled, and I got the latest driver from lenovo and made absolutely sure it is the right one (for XP and 8647-CTO).
My display looks perfectly normal, the same as when I got it. But the grapics card is slow under XP so I guess the warning is correct. The card performs horribly using sketchup, but when I switch to my vista drive, sketchup runs like lightning as you would expect with the v5250.
How do I correct the driver problem in XP that is not visible anywhere?
Guaranteed REPS for anyone who can solve this, as I really need to use XP.

The warning message just popped up, so here is the exact message:
"The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver, or enable your ATI adapter using the displays manager." -
I've got the same problem with an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 running on a ThinkPad T60 (8743-CTO). The problem appeared when I inadvertently changed ACLs of a number of Windows system files. Before I re-install Catalyst, I'd like to know if you tracked down the cause of your failure.

No I'm afraid I did not, in fact I moved on to other more difficult (and catastrophic) problems in XP and that driver involving an update I installed for .NET 2.0.
I eventually ended my dependancy on XP and moved on to Vista. I have not had a problem since.
