This is bigger news than the introduction of the Latitude D630 on the front page. :D

Lenovo did a great job of having their products actually come out on time. I don't see the IBM logo though.

Someone please help me feel better about my Macbook purchase. :(

To me looks like Fn+F8 and Fn+F9 have new functionality.

How is this t61 like $150 cheaper than the same exact t60 I customize? Very odd.

    $300 cheaper than the T60P I just got :( :( :(

    And it's a better computer.

The sale is extended to the new product line

According to the site it only takes a 4 cell battery and the max you can customize it for is a 7 cell? That's odd.

Well you probably ended up with a better video card and a bigger battery. I am excited about this T61 but 128MB graphics is not enough for me.

EDIT: Also, the sale doesn't give you as much of a discount on the T61 as it does on the T60p ($100 vs $250).

I'm surprised at how cheap the T61 is. I just placed an order through the shareholder link (and used an additional 5% off coupon) and it came out to just over $1300, which is $200 less than my similar T60 config.

Yeah it makes it tempting to buy one but I must excercise restraint and wait for one that I will know I am happy with.

does anyone know if I can get a something to put in the PC card slot or expresscard slot that has s-video or dvi or component....something that would be a video out connection besides the VGA.

Are you sure it has an s-video port, because it's not listed in the description. I think you're mistaking the ps/2 port for an s-video port. Anyway this seems like the only solution to my problem. It's an expensive solution and not portable. They're going for about $100 on ebay so I guess that makes it a little more reasonable.
