That was with brightness at 50%, wireless on, bluetooth on, email client open in the background.

    T61
    14 inch, 1440x900 resolution
    Core 2 7200
    2GB Ram
    Intel Integrated Graphics
    Sound via USB headphones

I was at 10% battery life after 2 hours, 45 minutes when the screen shut off.

I will run the same test with the 140m unless someone beats me to it first.

how did you setup the test? did you unplug it when you started the dvd... or did you just coldboot on battery and start from there?

I can test it tonight if it works. Now installing drivers for my fresh install.

Eh, I don't have the 6 cell, but I can rip the DVD to disc and test with 6 cell + Ultabay :p

Thank you! However, usually you'd be watching a DVD with wireless off... I think that will significantly extend your battery life.

As another number for you guys... I got about 3.5 hours of usage with wireless on, browsing the web, downloading stuff, installing MS Office, and playing some GTA Vice City - with a 7 cell battery. Not too bad.

@neocryte: That's with the onboard graphics, right?

I will be happy if I get three hours with doing nothing out of my 6 cell (Quadro).

I re-ran the test with bluetooth and wireless off, and got virtually the same results...just under 3 hours.

So it seems that on battery power, the power-saving features are kicking in and really lowering the drain from the wireless radios if they are on and not being actively used.
