    Hi guys,

Apparently my T61 has a "maximum" of 3gb..... it comes with 1gig, and im thinking of putting a 2gig stick in (bringing it upto 3gb)..... is there anyway of taking the built in 1gig out and putting another 2gig in its place (2x2gb)

would it support 4gig? (assuming i use vista 64 to get more than 3.5)

Vista 32 can only see 3 gigs. Nothing wrong with your thinkpad. You will have no problem throwing in 2x2gig sticks and showing all 4 as long as vista 64 installed.

    Exactly!
3 Gigs of memory is the practical max with a 32-bit OS.

What graphics card do you have? It should show 3.25gigs I believe.

Your OS should be able to see 3.5GB - 128mb = 3.375GB. However at least 128mb of that will be allocated to shared video memory, so you'll probably be able to see ~3.25GB of RAM with your 32-bit OS.
