    Hello:

I am ordering a Lenovo T61 (7662CT - with mobile broadband and multiple other upgrades).

I would like to order this with just Vista Home Premium since I have a copy of Vista Ultimate already and then I can just upgrade the OS when I get my new notebook.

This saves me $75 and I have read that upgrading versions of Vista isn't supposed to be a big deal.

My question really is, would anyone anticipate problems? Specifically, I know that there are some pre-installed IBM apps on the Lenovo; and a couple things actually look helpful to me. Might I break these if I do this upgrade? And subsequently cause myself huge headaches??

    Thanks!

OK, I've done clean installs before, so I'm open to doing this.

Do you have a link for your favorite clean install guide, specific to the T61?

    Thanks!

Why not just downgrade to basic? It'll save you even more.

Theres a link at the sticky at the top of the forum for clean installs.

There is no option for Vista Basic for the config I'm wanting. Oh, well.

    Ahh.. I see. Thanks!
