I just updated my T61 7664-18G ( Vista32, 3GB, 140NVS) from 1.26-1.06 to 2.19-1.08 in order to improve my cardbus performance. The cardbus transfer rates for my eSATA have increased, but also my battery drain in idle mode has gone up from

avg. 15.5 Watt to 17.6 Watt (this is without eSATA cardbus card installed).

Reverting to 1.26-1.06 lowers the battery drain again, but also my eSATA rates.
I also tried several older 2.x bios releases, but they all show the much higher idle power drain.

Is there any reasonable explanation for this ?
