Would anyone happen to know how many megapixels the built-in camera is on the T61 14" notebook? Would it also be the same on the 15" model? I could not find any info about it on the Canadian website. Any help would be appreciated.... Thanks in advance.

There is a secret to using the integrated camera.

Make sure you have the light shining on your face and not behind you. The camera autofocuses on the object with the most light. For example, if there is a window behind you, your face will get really dark and the light from the window will outshine you.

Also, to get the most out of your camera, you should download a program that can use webcams such as MSN or Yahoo!.

Once you downloaded and install one of those (you might have already), go into its camera settings and adjust it your camera. This will help get rid of that yellow/green tint. The downside to this is you have to load that camera setting each time you start your computer. Once you load it though, you can then close the messenger and go into your Control Panel > Integrated Camera and start taking pictures with good color quality. :D

But the major tip here is make sure you're in an all around well-lit area.

I use YAWCAM, there is a yellowish tint, but it randomly dissapears after a few minutes once it focuses and adjusts properly

I am planning to get a T61 and am debating whether to go for the wxga+ and get a external webcam or go with the integrated camera. I would be doing quite a bit of office related web conferencing, so the quality of the image is important. Any suggestions?

I have a really stupid question. With the webcam....does that automatically mean you can use it for video chat? like...does it have a microphone so they can hear you? or do you need to get an external one?

Yes, the laptop has a built-in microphone so you can talk during video chats.
