    Hi everyone,

    I'm interested in buying my first IBM/Lenovo laptop, but I have a few urgent questions first. Btw, I've searched the forums here NBR and couldn't really find any definite answer, so I'm looking for some information from users.

    First, is it true that the T61 14" WS with 7cell battery can/should last up to 4 hours in battery life? Also, how much will this laptop weigh? I currently have an Asus 14" laptop and I'm in the market for a machine that has a longer batt. life and lighter weight... I've heard that the system starts at 5lbs for the 4 cell, so I am guesstimating that the 7 cell will bring the total weight to about 5.5lbs?

    Next, I'm also interested in the 14" T61p because the pricing on this machine is only slightly more expensive than the T61 model, but it packs the 570m gfx card. Do any of you have this machine with the 6 cell battery? If so, how much does it weigh? I'm guessing that the 6 cell would only has 3 hrs on battery mainly because of the vid card. Therefore, I am more interested in the 9 cell 14" T61p Lenovo laptop. But I haven't got a clue how much this system will weigh/

    Do any of you have a definite number? I couldn't find any weight figures, so do you think it will be heavier than 5.5lbs or about the same? My decision really hinges on the weight of these systems because I go to university and I don't want to be hauling around a laptop + textbooks, so that is why I am currently looking into buying another system.

    Cliff Notes: Looking for a laptop that is equal to or less than 5.5lbs, has a 14" screen (doesn't matter if it's WS or Standard), incorporates a gfx card for light gaming 140m minimum, and is able to last 4 hours or more on battery.

    It's about 5.5lb-6lbs. I'll try to get the exact weight sometimes today. I currently own a 14.1" t61p with 9 cell.

    For a 7-cell WS with dedicated graphics, it would be pushing it to hit 4 hours.

    I'd go with the T61p. With the 9-cell on the 14.1", you can hit 4 hours, guaranteed. I don't know about the 15.4" model, sorry.

    Copied directly from the Lenovo site:

    14.1" 4:3 Screen:
    * Width: 313mm (12.3 in)
    * Depth: 255mm (10.0 in)
    * Height: 27.5-32.4mm (1.1 in to 1.3 in)
    * Weight: Starting at 2.28 kg (5.0 lb)

    14.1" 16:10 Screen:
    * Width: 335.5 mm (13.2 in)
    * Depth: 237 mm (9.3 in)
    * Height: 30.0 to 34.9 mm (1.20 to 1.37 in)
    * Weight: Starting at 2.4 kg (5.3 lb)

    If Lenovo's specs are correct, then the 4:3 should be around 6 pounds (they state the 9-cell as being 1.08 lbs).

    I should be getting a T61 14.1" widescreen with dedicated graphics and 7-cell battery in the mail soon. I'll test the battery life and weight and let you know.
