So I'm planning on getting a 15.4" T61 soon and I'm wondering what kinda battery life the 6 cell would get. I'm considering the 6 cell because as I understand it it is flush to the back of the 15.4" and does not stick out like the 9 cell. I've searched through some of the old threads but they talk mostly about the 14.1" or the 9 cell on the 15.4". Anyone own a 15.4" with a 6 cell battery and can comment? My config will include T7300, nvidia nvs 140m, and probably vista.

    Thanks.

It gives me 3 hours, with screen brightness at medium, wireless on, bluetooth off, no audio or video playback. Just basic surfing and word processing. If I play a song or video, the battery life falls to around 2 to 2 and half hours. I also went for the 6 cell because it sits flush. So far, I am pretty satisfied with the performance of the battery.

~3hrs when doing basic tasks (3hrs and 10-20 mins to be exact).
brightness - medium, wifi - on (signal good).

you got it right - 6cell battery is flush on 15.4"

I get 3h and about 30 minutes with developing work and no WiFi/Bluetooth. To be honest, i expected much less so i am happy with it.

I'm basically looking for enough to watch a movie or something for when i need to travel with the notebook (which isn't too often). Looks like 2 to 3 is what I should expect. thanks for the reply all.

a 6cell should give you 3-3 1/2 hours of battery life depending on your settings
