Call Lenovo and talk to their customer service. I ordered yesterday, so I don't think I missed out on anything. I was shocked to see 1GB 1dimm was only 34 bucks from lenovo!

Why does he have the card reader in his parts lists, but I don't? Is it just a glitch or am I not getting the integrated card reader? Or is it possible that is an accessory he ordered?

Edit: Nevermind, I just discovered this GEMPC400 is a smart card reader, so I guess the media card reader is not listed in anyone's parts list, even though we are getting it.

I have a gut feeling my notebook is going to get delayed. I am probably going to call Lenovo tomorrow. I tried to configure another 15.4" T61 yesterday and there is now a 3-4 week delay for UWB. Why is there a delay for wireless usb?

I hope it ships by my ESD of 8/2.

I called Lenovo today, and the rep told me there was a backorder of the UWB adapter and the 15.4' WSXGA+ TFT. Espo412, I got the 31P8904 SBB GEMPC400 CARD RDR WRITER because I will use it for work. Gee, I hate the long wait, over a month from ordering & the ESD. Maybe they will get some of those parts in and start shipping next week.

I ordered mine on 7/11 and Im STILL WAITING. This is getting rediculous...

If Lenovo drops their price again, and they still dont ship my laptop, I might have to reorder. The same laptop I configured is already 30 dollars cheaper than what I paid for two weeks ago!!!

Maybe its the UWB (wireless USB) antenna that is delaying all the orders?

The sooner the better... I'm tired of using my old toshiba satellite a65 w/ a celeron... it's so slow, weights about 10 pounds, and the usb is fried! haha... I'll be in heaven again with another thinkpad. Seriously tho, I start school a week after my ESD, so I'm getting nervous since you guys that ordered the 11th still haven't shipped yet.

 

slightly off topic but do we know what kind of battery life this puppy will get? i saw that integrated should get 4.5-5hrs on 9cell so im guessing this will get 3.5-4?

For some reason something went screwy with my order and they had to rebook it and now I have an est. ship date of 8/31?!?! When I ordered July 20th I had an estimated ship date of August 2nd!!! When I talked to the rep he said "Late August" was a reasonable shipping date. WTF?

 

Ah... I just hope they come before September - October! Hum... School starts back up for me Sept. 3rd...

That's nice.... My school starts mid august... Late august is unacceptable. When I bought it, it said "Shipped in 1-2 weeks". 6 weeks != 1-2 weeks damnit.

 

My ESD was 8/2, but now it is delayed. My new ESD is now 9/3.

I hope it ships out in earlier than that. Before the end of September would be a nice time to receive my notebook.

I've always seen "In process" to "Shipped."

Also, could your delay be related to the 160GB HD? Weren't those a problem this summer? ...

My last order (June, 07) took about 24hrs after shipping to show up on my bank records.

 

I ordered a T61 15.4", NVIDIA 140M, T7500 2.2 GHZ, 160 GB, on 7/15, and the ESD was 8/2. On the order status site it says the ESD is 8/2, but i called lenovo today and the rep said that it would be shipped on 8/7. I'm leaving town on the 9th so I told him that, and he said the delay was because of the WSXGA+TFT screen upgrade i did. He ended up saying they'll try their best to get it shipped within the next few days, but aparrently the screen is the reason for the delay.

i had selected the regular UPS Ground shipping, the guy on the phone said it should take only a day or two. I was a bit upset, so i told him it was ridiculous how long its taking, and again he said it was the screen, that part is what's causing the delay. I will update what happens/post pictures if and when it comes

Yesterday the sales rep. said next week it should ship. Today the rep. said it should ship in two weeks. I don't think they know what they are talking about. And the order status reps are horrible. If you can understand them, they all quote your Estimated Ship Date.

 

yeah, my ESD just changed from 8/2 to 9/5. I ordered it on 7/15; this is absolutely ridiculous. I called lenovo and told them i really needed the laptop before i leave; they said they could not get it because of the screen, but were very sorry for the inconvenience, and asked if I wanted a battery or a bag or $50 bucks off. I suppose, the salesperson was really nice considering they can't do anything about not having enough parts. As for the laptop, it won't come till late August, around the 27th.

Anyone have their 15.4" 140M ship yet?

 

I just hanged up with Lenovo, my ESD is 08/30 for an order placed on 07/30.
I already found that ridiculous at first so I called last week and I've been told that the problem was the screen.

Now I call again and I am told that the problem is the WUSB adapter.
It 'would' delay orders by 20 days.
But when I asked what would be the ESD if I change my configuration then they are telling me that it would delay my shipment even more...non sense.

I do not believe ANYTHING that these guys are telling me whatsoever.
It just seeems to be a huge mess - if they really are backordered then they should not sell what they can't supply.


I've been with Dell for years and I really wanted to try the "Lenovo quality" so far I am more than disapointed, I feel like I am in the 3rd world of customer service or something.

Not really and it's not that bad actually because ESD are still VERY DEPRESSING.

 

8/30 for an order on 7/30? Damn I ordered 7/20 and my ESD is 9/7 now! My ESD just keeps going up. If the Dell didn't have their Fn and Ctrl keys in the wrong places I would immediately cancel my T61 and go with a Dell. As it is only a few manufacturers have stayed away from the retarded configuration of putting the Fn key to the right of the Ctrl key. I mean it's seriously stupid, who needs to reach the Fn more than the Ctrl key?! ASUS also has it the right way but Dell, HP, Gateway, and a few others have it the retarded way.

 

The ESDs are very discouraging, but they don't mean anything really. I was told this by a supervisor. Sure... I know... I know... none of them really know what they are talking about, but I have found very few people that have had there laptops ship on their ESD. They just keep bumping up the ship date and then the next thing you know it ships when you least expect it. That seems to be the case from what I've seen in the threads.

My ESD has been 9/7 as well for the past week. I ordered mine on 7/12. I suspect that it will ship before the end of this month, but I also suspect my ESD will change again to mid/late Sept. before then.

 

Just a little update:

First order: 7/11, first ESD 7/30, second ESD 8/30

Found out two days ago my order status page wasnt working, so I called them up about it today.

CSRs told me there was an "error" in my configuration, and had to rebook it. Now the ESD is 8/28 (lol, it defaults to 18 days after initial order), and they said they will put me on the "critical list". I got 100 dollars off my order for my troubles in addition to the -30 dollar price adjustment, but Im wondering if this new order will come with the Wireless USB adapter that was previously an option on my first order?
