Hello!
A friend has the T61 6466-55G which runs like a slug cause he managed to get over 100 processes running, including malware. He has Vista on it and would like to get Windows 8.1 on (I've already upgraded the laptop to 3 GB of RAM and will install the 32-bit version).
I've looked for the drivers on the official Lenovo site but there doesn't seem to be any particular drivers for Windows 8.1
So, is any of you successfully running Windows 8.1 on a T61 6466-55G laptop? Did you had to get some drivers elsewhere or has Windows found it all by itself? Do you have all the functionality, is it stable?
Thank you!

Given the age of the T61 Windows 8.1 should be able to pick up most of the drivers by default. But if it doesn't Lenovo do issue Windows 8.1 drivers for the T61 should you need them, you can access the drivers you need by clicking here.

If you do not know what drivers you need, you can try to download a free and professional drivers download tool to helps you. For the drivers download and update, I will use three ways to help me:
1. Official site download.
2. Microsoft Update.
3. Download free drivers download software.
Because only use one way cannot fully solve the problem sometimes. -
Hi. I run Win 8.1 64 on Lenovo R61i laptop without any problems. I bought Crucial SSD 120 GB drive and I added 8 GB RAM. Laptop starts in 12 seconds and system is very stable (but I do not reccomend upgrade to Win 10). It is worth to install Middleton BIOS, as T61 and R61 machines are able to run in SATA 2 mode. Eight years ago, when I bought this laptop it run Win XP - 1 GB RAM. Now after upgrade it is much, much faster.
