    Hi,

    i have a T61 15.4" with the built-in 6 cell battery. Is there any (trustworthy) site so that i can purchase the 9 cell battery for this type of model ?

    Because i have heard complaints about delivery delays, availabilty and such. Do you think i should try from there first ?

    well, they do take a long time shipping (2-3 days) and then there is the air freight coming from China.
    So a week to 10 days overall, not for a battery, but for my ultrabay 2 hdd adapter.

    Since the adapter is not burn-tested, unlike a computer, ram, or any other active component, the delay is obviously in "handling", not in the manuf.

    Should be similar with the batt.

    How urgently do you need it, anyway?

    I am not "on fire". I asked the local shop that i purchased the laptop and i am waiting for an answer.

    You should be aware that the Lenovo batteries, although more expensive, seem (and this is only based on my limited experience) to be "optimized" for their laptops. I recently bought some 9 cell compatible batteries for my T500 and it gets almost 1 hour less of battery life.

    Also, when you install it in your laptop and fire up the OS, if you have the Lenovo Power Manager software installed it warns you that you do not have a "geniune Lenovo battery" installed.
