    Hi,

Im looking at upgrading my T7300 CPU on my T61.

Intel seems to makes two types of S479 CPU's being a Micro-FCBGA and a Micro-FCPGA.

Ive used a few diagnostic programs to determine the package type of my current CPU but cant get anything.

Does anyone know what package type I should use for compatability with my T61?

    Thanks

Its a PGA (Pin Grid Array) chip. BGA (Ball Grid Chips) chips are not upgradeable without very very expensive equipment.

You can use CPU-Z to verify.

I believe you need a socket "P" CPU.
