My new T61 should be arriving any day now. But does it come with a card reader by default? The ordering page is vague, only mentioning that it's optional and giving no option.

If it does come with a card reader, which media are supported?

At least for the 14.1", the card reader is optional and you have to choose either the express card slot or the media card reader. Unless you selected it, it won't come with you laptop. I personally don't think this is all that important, especially since you can get cheap usb media card readers everywhere these days.

I forgot to add the card reader on the R61 :(.. It was free btw. It's useful because you don't have to mess with USB readers.

I've had card readers on all my laptops but only used it twice. I think that having an express card slot is far more useful (eSATA, WWAN or even a new sound card). I didn't even think twice about configuring my T61 without the card reader option. There may even be a card reader as a pcmcia or express card, so all you need to do is always leave it plugged in.
