    Help:

I have a T61 that works well, except for the following:

If the notebook is asleep and I plug the charger in, it will not charge.

If the notebook is asleep, and I plug the charger in, and open the top, it will not charge.

I have to plug the charger in WHILE it is running to get the battery to charge.

Aggravating to say the least. I have searched for new drivers, and/or BIOS updates that may solve this issue, and have found none.

    Any ideas?

    Jim T (Noobee BTW). :-D

Do you have Power Manager installed? Check your charge thresholds and make sure it's on Full Charge.

Power Manager is installed, and yes, the settings are at "full" (start when battery is below 96%).

Last night, with the battery @ 35% I closed the lid, putting the computer in standby mode. Carried it back to the charger, and plugged it in.

This morning, it was still @ 35%. Acts like the software needs to be running NOT in standby mode to see that a charge is needed.

Is anybody else with a T61 (or close) having this issue, or does yours work correctly?

    Any other ideas from anybody?

Downloaded, and installed the new driver.

    Same issue.

If the machine is ASLEEP when I plug it in and the battery is low, it doesn't charge.
If the machine is ON and I plug it in, put it to sleep it charges...

    Go figure...
