Hi, Just wondering when i got my T61 it came with 8 disk, does anybody have the same and tried it or does anybody know anything about this.
6 disk - Software recovery purposes only only
    1- Rescue and recovery cd
    1- Supplemental product recovery cd
    Total of 8 disk.

    - So basically can i do a clean install with this disk?
-Or do i still have to backup my vista so i dont have to activate it with microsoft.?
-Are all the drivers included inside the disk?

    thank you in advance

I'd guess that the drivers on the cds aren't the most up to date. Thats why the guides usually direct you to the T61p site.

Unless you are doing an recovery for your computer I believe you have to activate it through microsoft if it is a clean install. Always back up your important data, just to be on the safe side!

I believe you should check for the driver downloads as well, you will usually find newer drivers since Lenovo do update them from time to time. (To be on the safe side, download the drivers that are available online) If something goes wrong through a clean install you can always post back here from help!

Those may be XP disks, not Veeesta.

Yes, on the T61 they are actually starting to send out XP recovery cd's if the unit came loaded with Vista Business or Vista Ultimate.

If find that a bit misleading given the disks are not labeled XP recovery. I could see a user using them and ending up in XP when they bought a Vista system. I guess they are doing this to be kind in case Vista is probably for the user they can roll back to XP.
