I'm not sure why I'm so turned around on this.

    On the T61p 14" model, SXGA+ = 1400 x 1050, which is NOT widescreen, correct?

But the Lenovo website seems to indicate that this laptop in fact widescreen.

    Am I missing something?

SXGA+ is not widescreen. So they were wrong in saying it's wide.

You're right -- 1400 x 1050 is a 4:3 ratio, opposed to a 16:10 ratio, which is widescreen. Lenovo might just mean it's high resolution. Maybe they're just mistaken. I know Lenovo is not Dell, but I have had the same thing happen with Dell: I got a 14.1" screen with 1074 x 768 ratio, but the specs on the laptop said widescreen.

Thanks for the clarifications. I think Lenovo just needs to change the picture on the 'build your own' pages - it is definitely a pic of a widescreen lappy.

    I believe 1280 x 800 and 1440 x 900 are the widescreen versions of the T61. The non widescreens are 1024 768 and 1400 x 900.

The non-widescreens are 1024 x 768 and 1400 x 1050. I really like the non-widescreens. Much more place for text without having to scroll all the time...
