    T61 issues

I have the T61 with my docking station. When I put the laptop in the docking station and then Function F7 to use my monitor & keyboard each time I close the laptop screen it locks up. It is frustrating because when I am at my desk I Like ot use the keyboard & monitor but my docking station will not register the unit.

My goal is to basically put my laptop in the docking station, close the cover and use the keyboard & monitor while the laptop is closed. Any help or know what I am speaking about PLEASE 

Hey Vicky and welcome to the forums!
from what I understand you're trying to use an external keyboard and monitor when attached to the docking station? is that correct?
pretty much the FN + F7 key only affects the display output...whether or not it is the laptop monitor or to an external monitor. If you have an external keyboard connected to the laptop...both devices should work to type...at least it does on my docking station.
when you use the docking station, did you make sure that it is plugged in correctly? does your laptop charge when put on the docking station? if not...there could be a hardware problem with the port on the bottom of your computer or the station itself.

Maybe I'm overlooking something but could it be that you've set it to sleep when the lid is closed?

Go to the Thinkvantage / Power Manager. Go to the Global Power Settings tab. Under "Events" set Lid Closed to "No action."
