I ordered a T61 15.4" screen (no didn't receive it yet) and need to know if it has Express slot or PCMIA for my sound card.

btw these are the cards I was looking at if your interested:

Going to use it for my Grado/Alessandro ms1 (woody mod) and my YUIN PK2's

... and maybe a protable amp if it suits me. Maybe I could piggy back a iBasso T2 to the notebook somehow...

If memory serves, that PCMIA card has been out for a LONG time.

If money is of no concern, I would go with the newer express card version.

I know I WANT the X-FI but it all depends on the slot I am given...

and the x-fi is new and the former has been out for some time, but it dosn't mean it's not good at what it dose.

And I pretty sure the cards will work in vista given the correct drivers. All they are supposed to do is replace your current sound card.

It depends on your configuration, but mine came with both PCMCIA and Expresscard 3/4

Well, why you configured your T61, what options did you choose? If you choose to have the media card reader? Or the smart card reader? If you chose either option, then you don't have an express card slot.

I think the above only applies to the 14inch wide version. Correct me if I am wrong.

OK thanks. I over looked that part.

I got the PC Card Slot & Express Card Slot option.

So I guess I can place an order with dell for my card (or I can wait a month when my notebook comes).
