I am wondering if I can order a T61 with a media card reader now, and then switch to the express slot later (by buying some part from ebay, say). The followings are what I found in PC Magazine review and Andrew's review:

    Any Ideas?

The other way around would be better - order it with an expresscard slot, and then buy an expresscard media reader for it to use when you need.

Yep, or USB readers, which are very cheap at the moment.

Besides, I looked at the HMM, and to swap it the way you want, requires a disassembly down to the system board to pull it. No way you want to do that.

So, how the PC Magazine's reviewer's came with "both an ExpressCard and SD card reader"?

I assume that would be without a PC Card, although I tried to configure one earlier, and I remember the PC Card is fixed, tandem with one of the other 3.

I found this on google this morning. I made the mistake of already getting it with SD/PC card. Does anyone know if or how i can replace this with the express card/pc card if i can find one or is this now permanent?
