    Hey guys!

Have you ever thought that the fingerprint reader on the T61 should have been located at somewhere else instead of it sitting on the right palm rest? i mean the current location is very convenient to access, however, it is also easy to get the reader surface scratched (i think mine has 1 small scratch). what do you guys think?

anyway, i'm going to design my own palm rest cover for my T61. i wonder why we don't see any laptop palm rest covers on the market. just an idea!

GUYS! No need to start a flame fest here. Please let's stick to the original post. The FPR's location never really bothered me actually and I'm fine with it. :)

the fingerprint reader should sit somewhere around the LCD bezel or on the side bars where the speakers are located or it should be move closer to the edge close to the "forward/next/right key" in my opinion.

Some companies put it between the touchpad keys, would you rather it there?

I agree. That was my thinking too! I like the idea of the sidebars. However, since I've been using an FPR I am surpised at all the different angles I sit from my notebook. With that in mind, where it now may be the optimal place. I'm not sure.

To be honest, I was more found of the FPR on the 3000. It was just more "tolerant". It's rare that the reader accepts my finger on the first pass.

Guys and Gals is absolutely fine! I like that quite a bit.

I think that the location is perfect. Especially for those of us who use a docking station most of the time. Though, it would be nice to have an additional one on the outside so I could close the lid of my lappy while working from the docking station.

I actually have no issue with the current location. I do agree that it is easy for it to get damaged where it is if you aren't careful, but other than that it is in a convient spot.

I wish they made the nipple a little more reccessed as it leaves a mark on my screen. That is my biggest complaint (which really isn't that big. :))

Yeah, I checked that out. I'm not willing to pay that much for the convenience of closing my lid though. haha. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm also out of USB ports anyway, I need to get a USB hub...
