I just recieved my T61 2 days ago, and i'm checking to make sure I got what i ordered. I ordered a 120gb 5400rpm hard drive. but when i checked the hard drive it is only reading as 106gb? I know there can be some descripancy but 14gb is a lot. where's the rest?

The ratio between GB and GiB is ~93%. Therefore, your 120GB hard drive (completely empty) will be read by the OS as 111GB. Then approx. 5GB are used by a hidden recovery partition.
