I have a new T61 with a 200GB hard drive. It has installed on it whatever Lenovo installed, plus Office 97, Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements. I also have a 20GB folder with pictures and video in it. That is all.
Although I'm quite sure the best thing for me to do is to do a clean install, I don't have the appetite to do that, so setting aside that option, can someone help me to understand where all of my hard drive space is going? I don't remember how much hard drive space I had after first installing my software and moving my files to this computer a couple of weeks ago, but it was far higher than it is now. I have 9 GB left. I had all of these same applications and data on a prior T60 (running XP) with a 100GB hard drive, and maybe 20 GB free on that drive. It is hard for me to believe that Vista takes up 110GB more than XP does.
I suspect that both Vista and Lenovo are doing system backups, and that this is taking up space, and if so I'm generally happy to have them continue doing this, but I would be extremely surprised if that's taking up 110GB.
Any other likely culprits?
Is there an application that I can run that shows me where the largest files and folders are on my hard drive?
