Running a home network with two XP Professional laptops, one desktop running XP Professional and a new T61 laptop running Vista Home Premium. I can view the XP machines on the Vista laptop and can move/copy files to and from the machines.

However, I cannot see the Vista machine on the network from any of the XP machines.

    Any ideas?

Network Discovery, File Sharing and Public Folder Sharing are all enabled.

    Password Protected Sharing is off.

Do you have any other kind of firewall up and running?

I am running ZoneAlarm (free edition) on all machines. I have allowed access for each machine's IP address in each install (192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.105)

Have you tried turning off ZA, and seeing if it works then. ZA can do some screwy things -- I used to be a beta tester for them. I'd try all machines off with ZA, and if that works turn on ZA one by one until you find it. If you are behind a router with SPI then all ZA does is protect you from outbound traffic, and with the Windows firewall in Vista getting pretty decent ZA to me is just processor overhead. Just my 2 cents.

Let me know if this helps -- it not you can PM, and I'll see what I can do to help.
