Hi, I have a T61 Type 6458-E35 and how do I check if my T61 supports Turbo Memory? I saw the option in the BIOS btw...

you can add the turbo memory in your thinkpad T61. But it won't add any performance if you have enough ram, i.e. >2gig.

Thanks lead_org for the reply. Could very well be but I was thinking since the Intel Turbo Cards are so cheap now, why not add it in if the system supports it. Btw, is it the Intel Turbo Cards used by T61, a Full-size or Half-Size (Mini) one?

because if you have more than 2 gb ram, turbo memory will actually slow your system down

seems like a pretty good reason not to do it

So do you think disabling it will have a performance increase?

Sounds like an interesting Sunday test, but I don't understand how it would make a noticeable slowdown/speedup

i have found that the intel turbo memory is a pain the bum, when i first got it with my T61p that i had before, as it keeps on causing BSOD. So i just stay away from them ever since, also when for the period it was working, it doesn't seem to be faster than the other T61 that i had.

Btw, can someone tell me if T61 15.4" use Full-size or Half-Size (Mini) Intel Turbo Cards?
