This T61 is beginning to give me trouble. First, I am not to sure of the build quality. There is flex in the LCD frame as well as towards the edge of the laptop. Onward to the main problem though:

I have everything installed and recognized by windows XP. I did a fresh install. Nothing is unidentified in system manager, and Thinkvantage is up and running, too.

When I close the LCD lid, and then reopen it, the screen flashes for a second, and then goes out. I am not able to revive the screen, and it is still active (not in standby or hibernate) because I can still hear windows sounds. I went to power manager and selected "Do nothing" when the lid is closed on the laptop on both power and battery. Any ideas why?

    Thanks in advance.

Mine does the EXACT same thing. It doesn't do it when it's loading Windows or in the BIOS so I'm assuming its a driver issue in Windows.
