    Hi guys,

My understanding is that not all T61s support the Perynn chip. Some equipped with the right plannar actually support them while the other T61s display an error message ( that you can 'Esc' out of ) and the cpu fan doesn't start.

If I were to get a T61 with the plannar that doesn't support the Perynn chips, how could I fix it aside from sending it to Lenovo ?

    Thanks

Would they fix it as it isn't really broken? The obvious answer would be a BIOS update. Why not buy a ThinkPad with a Penryn if it's that important to have one. It's probably cheaper than upgrading one.
