Since I seem to just see posts regarding problems. I wanted to see if there were people with 0 problems. Please vote yes if you had any problems, no if you had no problems what so ever.

    Ah!

First boot right out of the box: BSOD

    Within one hour three BSOD's...

Seems to be fixed now with that Matrix Storage Driver

New problem since today: hangups, system being freezed for a 20 seconds....

And overall: opening a topic in a new tabblad takes forever.... does that depend on HDD speed? Don't know, but on my desktop with three Seagate 7200.10 250 GB drives in RAID 0 there is very little waiting for HDD. :p

20 seconds sounds too slow. I'd suggest a clean install.

BTW, we are probably spoiled. I've got two 70GB WD 10000 RPM drives in RAID 0 for my system drive and two 250GB WD SATA-300 drives for my storage drive. ;) Nothing will ever seem fast enough on our laptops :D

Do we really need another poll?

my computer crashed once today -- the touchpad randomly stopped working and firefox froze up so just restarted it. and there was the annoying beeping thing too, but i fixed that. other than that, everything seems fine.

I was just *****ing about my T61 on another thread about build quality (it's no T42) but as far as performance, I'm satisfied.

One thing, I know new computers are slow at first but my system was bad, I thought it was garbage! Now that I've removed some things, let everything update itself and got my settings straight it's fine. I thought Vista would be slower but now I would say I'm pleasantly surprised.

Err, what? Someone told you a lie! Unless of course you're referring to all the bloated software manufactures install nowadays.

I'd imagine that most of the problems that people are experiencing with this computer are related to Vista. Run XP or Linux on it and I'm sure that your experience will be far better. My wife's came in yesterday and it's just sluggish which is a reflection of the operating system not the machine.

I've been using it since yesterday and no problems yet. For having 87 processes running it is going failry fast. Vista is a pain so far, I guess I just have to get used to it. I have to figure out how to create the recovery cd's so I could delete the partition on my hard drive and figure out how to use base software administrator or do a clean install. Besised those few things everything is great. No BSOD's so far either(knocks on wood)

Seriously. Didn't I just make a poll last week asking the same exact question?
