Are the T61 batteries compatible with the R61?
Does it matter what size the computer is? (14" vs" 15")

    Thanks.

try to plug it in. if it goes in without force it is compatible. all batteries and laptops have safety mechanisms so that u can plug in the right battery only. as an additional safety measure check whether the batteries are of same voltage

I want to get my sister a R61 and I have a T61 and I'm wondering if the batteries are interchangeable. Does anybody know?

my brother's standard screen 14" t61 has a different battery than my widescreen 14" t61 (machine type 7662)

try building the R61 on the website and at the quote screen jot down the machine type.

then do a search for the compatible battery with one machine type and then the other. if you get the same model battery it will work

I believe that they are. BUT the widescreen and STD screen models are not. Anyway the previous poster's idea of building one on line and seeing if the model# match is a very good way to make sure.
