Anyone else notice that when viewing the screen at a lower vertical angle (tilting the screen back) you can see gradiants?
Easy way to see this is bring up a white page with text on it. Tilt the screen back. I've seen this on every T61/R61 i've looked at.
Should i be worried?

So what? That's how LCD screens work.

All LCDs would have it, even desktop LCDs have bad vertical viewing angles. Only IPS screens have good vertical viewing angles but I bet at some point they do wash out.
The only way we can get better viewing angles is to the LCD panel manufactuers to make us better notebook panels. But with all the "casual" buyers (I'm trying to sound nice instead of calling them noobs) buying and accepting glossy displays it just wont happen. -
I understand that all LCDs have distortion at different viewing angles, and how some are better than others. What I am refering too is the fact that the T61 and R61 screens have a gradient effect on these same viewing angles. I havent seen another LCD screen that does this. I've used MVA, PVA, S-IPS, TN panels and havent see it.

I know it's tough to take accurate pictures of what is on LCD screens, but is it possible for you to show us what you mean?

I think I know what your talking about, lets see if I can try to explain it. If you adjust the vertical viewing angle, even just a bit you can change the values of whites and other bright colors more then say a desktop LCD.
I could be decribed a slight viewing angle change in brightness, even though you're only moving a small amount within the viewing angle. It is weird viewing angle, sometimes its noticeible on web pages and forums like this.
Are you talking about the WXGA+ 14 inch screen or 15 inch WSXGA+ screen?
