    T61 Ram question

    If i have the T7100 Core 2 Duo processor, does that mean I max out at 2 Gig of Ram and can't upgrade to any more ( ie 4)? Thx for your help

    You can go up to 4GB of RAM fine. But only 64-bit Operating Systems can read 4GB of RAM. If it's 32-bit, then it will only read about 3.2-3.5GB of the total 4GB.

    For some reason I thought the T7100 maxed out at 2 GB. If I'm using Vista, can i use my card reader w/ a 2 GB SD card for the extra RAM? And then would that RAM be listed in the "system properties" of My Computer? THX FOR THE HELP!

    No, the SD card slot is for ReadyBoost, not under the physical ram on system properties. You should be able to max out your ram, but like art said it'll be capped on 32bit to 3.0-3.5.
