I noticed I can't order this laptop with the 256mb video card now. Just wondering if anybody is really gaming on this yet? With the 128mb version? With the 1680x1050 or 1280x800 screens. I would play only at the resolution that was native to the screen. I would want to play with everything turned on. What are you using? Stock vid drivers or modded? WinXP or Vista?

Games like World Of Warcraft, C&C3, Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander, Neverwinter Nights 2.

So far the only thing I don't like about this is the matt screen. Granted I use a matt finish at home, but my laptops for the past 2-3 years all had glossy.

OK, lets turn this into a realy good gaming thread. So at what resolution do you play WoW at? What kind of frame rate do you get? Example: 1600x1050 and if outdoor, I would get 120fps looking up. (thats where the least ammount of gfx data is)

I have had problems with games that try to install their own DX9 updates ... I think I worked this out by installing the official DX9 from microsoft ( even though it appears to install nothing, it does update the time/version numbers in the registry ). This prevents games from adding conflicting DX9 that was causing blue screens.

That said, I played the demo of Titan Quest, Dark Messiah, and the full Oblivion fine on my 22" 1680x1050. They do drop frames if you have everything on high at that resolution, but most notebooks would. If I goto the native screen on the laptop they work perfectly.

In terms of realworld performance the Quadro 140M seems to do well. I used thinkvantage to reimage the HD and removed the bloat this made a 300-500 point difference in 3DMark06 scores. I get 1600-1700 scores now with my firewall running and firefox downloading stuff in the background....... that is how I use my computer I could kill all running processes, make the screen tiny and get higher results...... but that is NOT how I daily use my system.
